The Brief : To update the garden space keeping texture and rustic charm of the existing garden. Materials to be robust and industrial for the coastal location. Our clients requested a bespoke garden building to feel part of the space with visual connection to the cottage. Space to sit for casual outside dining and an outside shower for after a day swimming in the sea.

The Solution : We created L shape seating benches and an outdoor kitchen by reusing and filling gabions with the old bricks of the existing garden. This saved the material from going to landfill and kept the history of the property in the garden. Large Corten steel planters line the black stained boundaries filled with a verdant selection of leafy and rust toned planting. Large format porcelain paving, surface mounted copper wiring conduit and outdoor. Garden building with charred timber finish designed by Fuchsia Green to work with the garden styling.
