Contemporary Charm

The Brief : Zone the garden to catch the sun for outdoor dining in the morning and an evening social space and dip in the hot tub as the sun goes down.

The Solution: Taking inspiration from the charming property we created several areas, utilising porcelain paving for the surfaces and retaining walls and hardwood to update the veranda. An automated Shade canopy provides a place to dine for breakfast or lunch either fully shaded or open depending on the weather. At the side of the house a lounge social area defined, softened and protected from coastal winds by an evergreen hedge. A further deck for the partially sunk hot tub and sun loungers for getting away from it all. Planting includes a meadow, perennial and grasses, fruit trees and oversized planters on the deck.

We are beyond delighted with our garden – Lisa took our sketchy ideas and turned our garden into exactly what we were looking for. She is a good collaborator, working with us on the plan and offers good advice. From design stage through to collaborating on landscaping and her lovely planting scheme, Lisa has been a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend her work.
